Press kit
WriteAmp press kit: boilerplate, fact sheet, founder bio, approved quotes, and downloadable assets for journalists. Last updated: July 2026. WriteAmp is built by DataDab LLP. Questions: [email protected].
“I dictate the messy version walking to the train, then clean it up at my desk. It’s not faster typing. It’s less... staring at a blank doc?” says Samira, a PM in Copenhagen.
She still types most of her work.
Fact sheet
Founder bio
Amit Ashwini is an independent macOS developer building WriteAmp under DataDab LLP. WriteAmp is his first commercial macOS app.
The motivation for WriteAmp came from a recurring frustration with cloud-based AI writing tools: each one required sending whatever the user was typing to a server. WriteAmp keeps the whole loop on-device — suggestions, learning.
And history.
Approved quotes
Cleared for on-the-record use, attributed to Amit Ashwini, founder of WriteAmp.
"I built WriteAmp because I didn't want my drafts leaving my Mac. The local model isn't a feature for me, it's the whole point."
"WriteAmp suggests when it's confident and stays out of your way the rest of the time. Tab is the main interaction, that's the whole habit."
"I want the same ghost-text experience in Mail, in Slack, in a code editor. WriteAmp is one menu-bar app for all of them, and it learns how you write."
