Terms & refunds
WriteAmp terms of sale and refunds: licensing, activations, merchant of record, and warranty. Last updated: July 2026. WriteAmp is built by DataDab LLP. Questions: [email protected].
“I just left it on mini. Works fine. Didn’t overthink it,” says Ken, who writes code comments all day in Osaka. He tried midi once. Went back.
Mini is the default for a reason.
What you are buying
- License: $29 once. Lifetime. No subscription, no monthly charge. Lifetime means you get every update we ship for the version you bought (1.x). We price it this way because a menu bar utility shouldn’t be a subscription.
- Trial, the app is fully featured free for 30 days from first launch, followed by a 7-day grace period. No card is required to try it.
- Activations, one license key covers up to three simultaneous Mac activations. You can deactivate a Mac to free a slot.
- Requirements, an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 14 or later. The optional Apple Intelligence engine requires macOS 26 or later.
Merchant of record
Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record: it handles payment, sales tax / VAT, invoices, and the license key delivery email. Your payment details go to Lemon Squeezy.
Not to us.
Refunds
If WriteAmp is not right for you, email [email protected] within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full through Lemon Squeezy, no questions asked, though a one-line reason helps us fix the right thing. Refunds return to the original payment method; timing depends on your bank.
Acceptable use
The license is for individuals: use WriteAmp on your own Macs. Don't resell, share, or publish your license key. The app's source code is available under the MIT license (with core logic derived from KeyType, also MIT); the license key governs the notarized distribution's local engine, not the source.
Warranty & liability
WriteAmp is provided as-is. It helps you type. It’s not a compliance or safety tool. You decide what gets inserted, every time. To the extent the law allows, DataDab LLP’s liability is capped at what you paid.
